This is a key role within the company and as part of the textile team, the textile apprentice will initially be involved in learning the principles of engineering and roles of yarn preparation and weaving. This will give the successful candidate an excellent knowledge of the engineering maintenance and the types of yarn’s and machinery involved in the manufacture of Fire hoses and Industrial pipelines.
Areas to be covered include:
• Safe operation of weaving/preparation machinery
• Setup of machinery for manufacture
• Inspection of woven fabric
• Maintaining quality standards
• General housekeeping
• Fault finding and machine diagnostics
• Yarn types and cloth design.
• Machinery maintenance.
Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 37.5 Hours Mon-Fri - 8:00am to 4:30pm shift work required
Salary : £150.00 Per Week

Skills Required :
Interested in the mechanical operations of machinery, analytical thinking and being able to work as part of a team

Future Prospects : Becoming a Technical Expert, Production and Process engineer in Textiles as well as the potential of becoming a Team Leader.
Training to be Provided : Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Engineering Maintenance and Installation
City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Engineering (QCF

Other Information : The National Minimum Wage (NMW) for Apprentices is £3.40 per hour from 1st October 2016. This applies to 16 - 18 year old Apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other Apprentices the Apprentice National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
The wage for Apprentices applies to both time spent on the job plus time spent in training.

Under 18 - £4 per hour
18-20 - £5.55 per hour
21+ - £6.95 per hour
25 and over £7.20 per hour
